‘We are just trying to make our home the best that it can be’
Keeping a high level of team-member morale is important in long-term care homes, and Woodland Villa is planning to use The OMNIway as a means of keeping spirits up, says Christina Edgar, the home’s office manager.
Edgar says sharing more success stories with The OMNIway was discussed at a recent Woodland Villa strategic planning meeting. The idea was met with enthusiasm from management and staff, she adds.
“We want to make sure the residents and our employees are both recognized,” she says. “We want to create better employee morale and recognize the good that goes on with both the residents and the people who work here.”
Much of the Feb. 4 meeting, which Edgar characterizes as “a really great day,” focused on the importance of communication – and sharing more stories in The OMNIway was an avenue staff members agreed to pursue to increase engagement.
Success stories involving residents and staff members happen all the time at Woodland Villa, Edgar says. What the team wants to do is increase the number of times those successes are captured, with one goal in mind.
“We are just trying to make our home the best that it can be,” Edgar says.
