(VIDEO) RPN reflects on 21 years at Springdale
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – Diane Rainbird has been working at Springdale Country Manor for 21 years, but she’s been interested in long-term care even before she earned her registered practical nurse (RPN) qualifications.
During a recent interview at the Peterborough County long-term care home, Rainbird said she chose a nursing career because her aunts were nurses. She worked as a nurse’s aide whilst studying to become an RPN. What has kept her working at Springdale Country Manor more than two decades is the love of her job and her ability to make a difference.
“I go home at the end of the day and know I’ve done the best . . . I can do to help,” she says.
