VIDEO: Pleasant Meadow volunteer Ann Carlow receives Circle of Excellence Award
Pleasant Meadow Manor volunteer Ann Carlow is a recipient of a 2017 Circle of Excellence Award from the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA).
Ann was presented with the award during the Norwood long-term care home’s May 17 volunteer appreciation tea. The OLTCA, which represents more than 400 of the province’s long-term care homes, presents outstanding volunteers with the honour every year.
Ann visits Pleasant Meadow Manor on Tuesdays and Fridays to help with bingo, something she started doing when her mother was a resident.
Ann explains what she likes best about volunteering at Pleasant Meadow Manor.
“Just to come and be with the people; they’re so happy to see you,” she says. “So, it’s really rewarding to come and sit with them and chit-chat with them.”
