Family member shares experience with Picton home
The daughter of a resident living at Kentwood Park is giving the OMNI Health Care long-term care home five stars.
Family member Bonnie Thompson took to Google to express her opinions and experiences as a result of having her mom, Lorna Whitman, reside at the Picton home.
A recent visit to the home solidified Bonnie’s decision to place her mother in the home’s care.
“I would love to share with you my experience (May 23),” Bonnie says in her review. “When my husband and I walked into the foyer of Kentwood Park, mom was all smiles. She had recognized us, but pretended she didn’t see us.
“It was the first time (she recognized us) since she has been at Kentwood Park. I was in tears.”
She says her mom is “so happy” at the home. Bonnie promised Lorna she wouldn’t move her into a long-term care home. But the experience at Kentwood Park has changed her opinion about long-term care.
“The staff are amazing. They are so caring and compassionate. The atmosphere is so relaxing and unregimented like the newer nursing homes,” Bonnie writes.
“Mom is well-fed, clean, entertained and the staff make us feel most welcome. They listen to our concerns about our mother and are willing to get the extra help to make her happy.”
Although Bonnie travels a distance from Trenton to Picton, she says she’s confident her mom is in the right place and there she will stay.
