Lindsay LTC home’s annual party gets residents and staff into the Irish spirit
St. Patrick’s Day is not only a time to celebrate all things Irish at Frost Manor, it’s also a time for outstanding teamwork to flourish in the spirit of fun and laughter.
The Lindsay long-term care home’s life enrichment and nutritional care departments went all out on March 17 to provide residents with a fun St. Patrick’s Day party. The celebration is held every year, and it’s one the residents look forward to, says life enrichment co-ordinator Vi O’Leary.
The fun even starts before the party.
“We will tell the residents about the party, and they’ll all be laughing because we’re wearing green hats,” she tells The OMNIway.
The life enrichment department organized the afternoon’s entertainment, while the nutritional care staff prepared green cupcakes and a St. Patrick’s Day cake. And, of course, there was green beer available as well.
“We always make a big fuss over St. Patrick’s Day,” O’Leary says, adding it’s never a problem to get team members to dress up in green. “We have lots of dress-down days, and St. Patrick’s Day seems to be the biggest hit.”
The event was attended by more than 30 of the home’s 62 residents.
