Augusta Waddell’s leadership abilities ‘are hard to ignore’ at Woodland Villa

‘Passionate’ RPN who’s always working to enhance residents’ quality of life receives Inspired Leadership Award

Augusta Waddell is known around Woodland Villa as a registered practical nurse (RPN) who is a “passionate” team member with lots of ideas and works hard to provide the Long Sault, Ont., long-term care home’s residents with the best possible high-quality care.

It’s for these reasons that Augusta has been selected as Woodland Villa’s 2017 Inspired Leadership Award recipient.

Augusta received her accolade on Aug. 16 during a noon-hour ceremony at Woodland Villa’s annual Country Fair.

“With Augusta working, it’s easy to follow suit as her strong leadership abilities are hard to ignore,” said Janna Sabourin, Woodland Villa’s administrator.

“I know that when Augusta is working, things will be done and all will be organized.  Congratulations, Augusta, on being this year’s winner of the Inspired Leader award.”

During the ceremony, Woodland Villa’s 2017 Everyday Hero recipient, personal support worker Holly Bourgon, and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Victor Dawkes, we also honoured.

OMNI Health Care’s Inspired Leader Award is presented to staff members from each of the organization’s 18 long-term care homes. The accolade recognizes people who demonstrate OMNI’s mission, vision and values. Inspired Leaders also possess outstanding leadership skills and are committed to their work.

OMNI announced this year’s recipients of the Everyday Hero, Inspired Leader and Elisabeth Hinton Memorial awards at the Quality Forum in Calabogie, Ont., in May.

Managers from OMNI’s long-term care homes were presented with the names of the award winners. Homes are presenting the awards during their own ceremonies.
