(VIDEO) Village Green staff treated to spa-like activities during Nursing Week

SELBY, Ont. – People working in long-term care homes work hard caring for others, but they sometimes don’t take enough time to care for themselves, says Debbie McTaggart.

In today’s OMNIway video, Debbie, Village Green’s director of care, says this is why it was important the Greater Napanee long-term care home’s team members were treated to a spa-like group of activities during National Nursing Week in May.

These activities included reflexology, hypnotherapy, makeup and yoga sessions.

Village Green hosts themed events in honour of National Nursing Week each year.

Held the week of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale’s birthday on May 12 every year since 1965, National Nursing Week aims to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions nurses make in our health-care system. OMNI Health Care homes make a point of including all staff members in their Nursing Week celebrations.
